La Producers Guild of America ha annunciato l’elenco completo delle nomination per i PGA Awards 2022. L’elenco conferma come lo streaming continui a crescere come una delle principali piattaforme di Hollywood, poiché Netflix ha ottenuto tre delle dieci nomination per il premio di Outstanding Producer of Theatrical Motion Pictures.
I PGA Awards premiano i produttori di alcuni dei film, programmi TV e documentari più importanti dell’anno. Ambientati nel mezzo della stagione dei premi, i PGA Awarda sono solitamente un buon termometro per la corsa agli Oscar, mettendo in evidenza i film che sono percepiti come le migliori produzioni dell’anno. Questa è un’ottima notizia per Netflix, dato che il gigante dello streaming ha tre pellicole nella categoria principale dei PGA Awards: la satira costellata di star Don’t Look Up , il dramma musicale tick, tick … BOOM! e il western guidato da Benedict Cumberbatch Il potere del cane. Altri lungometraggi in lotta per il massimo riconoscimento includono Dune , CODA , Belfast , Being the Ricardos, King Richard , Licorice Pizza e West Side Story di Steven Spielberg.
La Disney regna ancora sovrana sul versante dell’animazione delle nomination, con tre lungometraggi: Encanto , Raya e l’ultimo drago e Luca della Pixar. Anche The Mitchells vs. The Machines di Netflix è in corsa, con Sing 2 di Illumination che chiude la lista delle nomination. Per quanto riguarda la televisione, diverse categorie onorano i programmi preferiti dai fan come WandaVision , Ted Lasso e Squid Games .
I vincitori saranno rivelati alla 33a edizione dei Producers Guild Awards il 19 marzo.
